Trust Grade Registrar in Care of the Elderly – 3 vacancies

Salary scale: £30,992 – £46,708 (dependant on experience)
Based: Kettering General Hospital

Clinical: The Trust Grade Registrar will be responsible, together with the SpR for the management of patients admitted to the ward.  He/she will be expected to attend Consultant ward rounds, case conferences and outpatient clinics and to perform personal ward rounds on the acute patients. The Trust Grade Registrar is responsible for the medical management of the in-patients & those in MAU/CDU throughout the on call shift.

The Trust Grade Registrar on a monthly rotation will act as senior cover supervising and  assisting the ST/FY2 providing cover to the patients in the 18 bedded Isolation Ward.

Administration Duties: Involvement with arrangements for inpatient discharge summaries, outpatient letters etc and the management of other junior staff on the team.

As part of the East Midland Health Authority, Kettering has well-developed links with Leicester Medical School, receiving medical students, pre-registration house officers and registrars on rotation.

In addition to the main site at Kettering General Hospital the trust has premises for outpatient’s clinics to be held at a number of peripheral sites.  These are located at Corby Community Hospital, Isebrook Community Hospital in Wellingborough and the newly built Nene Park out-patient unit at Irthlingborough.
