Salary scale: £30,992 – £46,708,446 (dependant on experience)
Based: Kettering General Hospital

The Speciality Doctors and Trust Grade Registrars, together with the SHO doctors are responsible for the initial assessment, management and treatment of all patients presenting to the Accident and Emergency department.

The Trust Grade Registrars will mainly be working on the shop floor seeing patients.

The Trust Grade Registrar doctors review x-ray reports and arrange follow up for missed fractures.

The Trust Grade Registrar doctors will take an active role in the minor injuries assessment and treatment area, helping and guiding the emergency nurse practitioners.

The Trust Grade Registrar doctors will be involved in the Trauma Team and the resuscitation of cardiac arrests within the department.

There are three soft tissue clinics per week, which are Consultant led.  The Speciality Doctor Trust Grade Registrar doctors, when deemed as competent, are required to run these clinics when the Consultant is absent.

The Trust Grade Registrar doctors are required to familiarise themselves with the departmental clinical guidelines and protocols.

Kettering General Hospital has 598 beds and serves a local population of 310,000. The Accident & Emergency Department sees approximately 68,000 patients per year and sees 90% of patients within 2 hours. There are separate areas for Resuscitation, major and minors and children’s areas. They also have an excellent Nurse Practitioner service for minor injuries and also a 5 bedded observation ward.
