WEHCT is an integrated acute and community Trust providing a full range of services for a population of 280,000 stretching from Eastleigh in the south to Andover in the north encompassing both rural and urban communities. In November 2010 there was an agreement, in principle, for a merger with the North Hampshire Hospital, Basingstoke, which will result in a combined population of 550,000. Discussions are in progress as to how this may result in any integration of care within the Division of Medicine.
